Our Anaerobic Adhesives and Sealants include an extensive line of products used as Threadlockers, Pipe Thread Sealant, FIP Form in Place Joint and Retaining Compound.
Anaerobic adhesives will not cure without the presence of metal and the absence of air. It turns out that this is exactly what happens when an anaerobic sealant (adhesive) is sealed between a nut and bolt on a threaded metal assembly or between two cylindrical metal fittings. In the presence of active metal ions and the absence of oxygen, anaerobic adhesives and sealants cure rapidly to form a tough cross-linked plastic that will bond very well to many metals.
There are four basic types of applications for anaerobic adhesives and sealants, they are:
Retainers – These are for bonding and sealing cylindrical joints.
Threadlockers – For bonding and sealing threaded metal fasteners.
Sealants – For bonding and sealing threaded pipe and fittings.
EFS – Formed-in-place gaskets – The manufacture of a gasket at the site of use.
Within each of the applications, there are different products that differ in strength, temperature resistance, setting speed, viscosity and gap filling.
